Many of the plot holders had to travel quite a distance to reach the allotments and so could not go to and from home to use the loo. Elderly tenants, ladies, young families and the less able were clearly disadvantaged by the lack of toilet facilities, which went against the Allotment Association's policy of inclusivity.

“James Young came along to the site and thoroughly explained the installation process and how the toilet would work. He then and carried out all the necessary planning and managed the installation team. We had no problems at all.”

The installation took just one day and now the Kazubaloo sees around 10 – 15 uses per day throughout the year, from plotholders and their visitors and helpers. The members are so used to it now it is just "part of the site" but “it would be missed if it was removed”, says Kathy.

“I am so glad we had the Kazubaloo installed, I tell people about it at every opportunity I get!”
