Based on a nautical theme, the KL3 has been designed for use with the patented Kazubaloo waterless toilet system.
The KL3 features:
- Modern, sustainable materials in an eye catching design
- Galvanised steel base
- Frame in exterior grade, 18mm Finnforest ply, all weather phenolic coating
- End walls and door section in exterior grade, 18mm Finnforest ply, all weather phenolic coating
- Roof in Alupanel: a weatherproof, aluminium and polyethylene sandwich. Long lasting, super resistant, this material is available in a variety of colours
Like the KL2 the new cabin is fully accessible for people with reduced mobility and can easily accommodate wheel chair users. The unique shape of the KL3 is based on the hull of a boat and is designed to accommodate increased wind and snow loads, for use in remote areas.
The KL3 includes many design improvements. The structural elements of the cabin are made entirely from wood, radically reducing embodied energy. The frame and walls are manufactured from Finnforest ply, which is FSC certified, and comes in a range of colour options.
The KL3 construction process is shorter and involves less suppliers, which makes the product less complicated to manufacture. It is also easier to pack and install than the KL2 design. From an installation perspective the KL3 incorporates 'nut inserts' and only two sizes of bolt, simplifying and speeding up the installation process.
The KL3 will not supersede the KL2, which remains the first choice for many locations due to the flexible way it can be installed in multiple orientations and it's reversible door, but compliments the range of Kazubloo products.
Nick Davies, the KL3 designer said:
"We are very proud of the new KL3 and hope that it helps more people install waterless toilets in more places. It contains several design improvements and the wooden frame makes it a more environmentally friendly cabin."
