An evaporating toilet and cabin for domestic, smaller scale or private installations. Designed for usage patterns typical of a domestic situation, the KL1 is discreet enough to be installed in a small garden and large enough to accommodate a full sized adult.
Suitable for the most demanding climates and conditions the KL1 is a completely 'off-grid' toilet system which does not require access to the sewerage or electricity systems and does not use any chemicals.
The Kazubaloo KL1 works by dehydrating the solids and evaporating the liquids in order to reduce waste volumes by up to 90%. Waste is transformed into a neutral, odour free material in a completely ecological process. The unique chimney and the evaporation process creates an air flow which radically reduces odours in a way which is not possible with a conventional composting toilet.
Construction
The KL1, made from high quality, highly durable elements, is designed to be assembled with the minimum of equipment in a matter of hours. A galvanised steel frame, locked in place at the base and at the roof, provides the skeleton for marine ply walls and red cedar roof.
The side walls and roof provide lateral, structural integrity, creating a perfectly rigid building once bolted in place. The base element can be filled with concrete or other suitable material to provide a solid floor or can be fitted with lightweight flooring such as wood. Foundations can be sharp sand, earth or gravel making the KL1 suitable for ecologically sensitive sites.
Installation
Kazubaloos are simple enough for experienced building professionals to install.
In the last few years Woo Woo has refined the installation method, which is explained in detail in the installation documents. We can provide both guidance notes on what to look for from contractors and comprehensive step-by-step instructions that explain how to install the toilet system and cabin. If you would like we can recommend a contractor to you if we have worked with one in your area.

Materials
The Kazubaloo Toilet System is made from UV protected low density polyethylene unit and comes with a two year Manufacturers Guarantee. It has a design life of at least 50 years.
The KL2 cabin is made from a galvanised steel frame covered with WBP PEFC Finnish Birch Ply. The steel frame has an Anti Corrosion Treatment and a design life of 25 - 50 years. The walls receive two coats of micro porous anti-fungicidal treatment and will need to be retreated every 3 - 5 years.
The roof is made from Class 3 treated Pine, typically used for external cladding and is guaranteed for 15 years against rot.
Environment
The Birch Ply used on the cabin walls is PEFC-certificated which ensures the raw material is sourced from sustainable managed forests. Total Volatile Organic Compound (TVOC ) emissions values are significantly lower than those for untreated softwoods due to the evaporation of most of the terpenes during heat treatment process.
