Kazuba have announced a series of upgrades and new options for their highly successful range of semi-public off-grid, waterless toilets, that are serving thousands of people everyday on golf courses, allotments, parks, community gardens etc
New STK2 tank
The working heart of all the Kazuba products is the unique STK, and with the release of the STK2, Kazuba have incorporated a number of changes that will improve the efficiency, capacity, and aesthetics. The new STK2 tank will be standard on the Kazuba KL1, KL2 and KL2 Accessible models.
Increased tank capacity
The Kazuba STK works by enabling the evaporation of urine through the designed airflow, the same one that also removes the odours. The majority of the urine is evaporated, with excess urine (when used beyond the evaporation rate) collected in the tank.
The new STK2 tank has had its design optimised and height increased slightly. The result has increased the capacity by a massive 40%, from 360 litres to over 500 litres.

New toilet bowl design
The new toilet bowl has been completely redesigned to improve the aesthetics and functionality. It now features an inner flare which will help prevent debris collecting in the upper part of the toilet.

Redesigned maintenance hatch
The new hatch is constructed from double-skinned, rotomolded, highly durable plastic and is now flat (the previous version was curved). Together with the new chimney (see below), it offers improved resistance to rainwater ingress.
It is held securely in place with four locking points and uses the same triangular key as the previous STK, so customers with different models on site will only need one key to access and service everything.

Redesigned evaporation chimney
Design changes made to the top of the tank mean that there is a greater distance between the chimney and the toilet pedestal. This makes installation easier and increases the flexibility of installation choices (the position of the building, relative to the chimney in order to keep the chimney facing south).
These enhancements, together with the redesigned maintenance hatch have resulted is a more compact chimney, but with the same overall height and performance.

New urinal module
A new urinal module now offers a much simpler installation and can even be retrofitted onto existing Kazuba KL2 Accessible installations.
When installing at the same time as the Kazuba STK or STK2 tank, you have the option to run the urine directly into the tank. Otherwise, you can run the urine into a soak-away pit (subject to environmental restrictions, such as distance from water course etc)

Interior solar light module
For situations where you expect the Kazuba toilet to be used outside daylight hours, you can now purchase the optional solar light module.
It comprises a flat, roof mounted solar panel (not visible from ground level) and an internal wall mounted case that incorporates the battery, charge controller and LED light.
Installation is straightforward – install the solar panel on the roof of the KL2, mount the light/battery box and connect the wires. The case with integrated LED light is mounted high up, affording both weather and vandal protection.

Coming soon – wooden door option for KL2 and Bumper
The standard door for Kazuba KL2 and the Bumper is lacquered aluminium, and whilst it’s incredibly durable and weather resistant, it’s not to everyones taste.
Kazuba are working to create a wooden door that matches the Thermowood© cladding used on the rest of the building.

In addition to the different aesthetics, the wood can be sanded and retreated or replaced if necessary.
Durable roof option for extreme climates
The standard roof on the Kazuba KL2 is made from phenolic ply board, and has proved itself to be very durable and weather resistant. However some harsher environments demand even more durability.
You can specify an upgrade to include a ‘Fundermax’ composite roof manufactured using high-pressure laminates (HPL) according to the EN 438-6 standard. The incredible weather and climate protection consists of double-cured acrylic polyurethane resins.
The process means the roof is resistant to extremes of heat and cold, maintaining its integrity and performance for longer. The upgrade costs around £1000 – get in touch for more details.
